This charming village found fame in the 19th century through the works of art created by landscape painters who were members of the Barbizon School art movement. The Auberge Ganne, where the artists once lived, is now a museum. We'll enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment.

We'll spend the morning cruising. In the afternoon, join us for a visit to the Muse Marmottan Monet(1), which houses the largest collection of his paintings. After we return on board, we'll begin to cruise to Mantes-la-Jolie. Join us for a second onboard lecture entitled Claude Monet, the Quintessential Impressionist.

Mantes-la-Jolie is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region of north-central France. It is located to the west of Paris, 48.4 km from the centre of the capital. Join us for a tour of Monet's home and studio in Giverny. We'll spend the afternoon cruising to Rouen. Enjoy a cabaret-style evening of entertainment on board.

We'll set out on a guided tour of Rouen(2) this morning by following the footsteps of the Impressionists. The afternoon will be dedicated to a guided tour of the Norman Abbey Circuit. We'll discover Jumige and the ruins of one of the most magnificent abbeys in France, as well as the Church of Saint Peter and the Abbey of Saint Wandrille. Our ship will cast off for Honfleur (departure time will depend on the tides). Join us for a lecture entitled The Geography of Impressionism: Paris and its Suburbs, Honfleur, and the Coastlines of Normandy.

Honfleur, the most picturesque of the Côte Fleurie's seaside towns, is a time-burnished place with a surplus of half-timber houses and cobbled streets that are lined with a stunning selection of stylish boutiques. Much of its Renaissance architecture remains intact—especially around the 17th-century Vieux Bassin harbor, where the water is fronted on one side by two-story stone houses with low, sloping roofs and on the other by tall slate-topped houses with wooden facades. Maritime expeditions (including some of the first voyages to Canada) departed from here; later, Impressionists were inspired to capture it on canvas. But the town as a whole has become increasingly crowded since the Pont de Normandie opened in 1995. Providing a direct link with Upper Normandy, the world's sixth-largest cable-stayed bridge is supported by two concrete pylons taller than the Eiffel Tower and designed to resist winds of 257 kph (160 mph). Set out on a walking tour of Honfleur, the cradle of Impressionism. Enjoy some free time on your own at the Eugne Boudin Museum. This afternoon, we'll visit the Cte d'Albtre, with its magnificent white cliffs lined with pebble beaches and the small seaside city of tretat.
