The coat's motto ("Valiant, determined, compassionate") was introduced in 1947 by Queen Wilhelmina in remembrance of the 1941 February Strike in Amsterdam—the first time in Europe that non-Jewish people protested against the persecution of Jews by the Nazi regime.

Breisach and its history can be experienced through the City History Museum, which houses a permanent exhibition taking you from Stone Age through the Celtic, to the Romans and Middle Ages, right up to modern day. St Stephen's Cathedral is home to the city’s famous art treasures, the wheel wells, which are housed in the neighbouring Radbrunnenturm with the forty one metre deep water well. The cathedral is also home to many other treasures including the High Altar of Master HL and wall paintings by Martin Schongauer as well as High Gothic and Roman architecture. A visit to the Blue House, the former Jewish Community Centre, is highly recommended. Now owned by the Friends of Former Jewish Community House Breisach it exhibits memorials to Breisach’s Jewish heritage.

This morning, discover Jungfraujoch. Known as the ‘Top of Europe’, it’s home to the continent’s highest railway station at almost 3,500 metres above sea level. Take the famed cogwheel train to the top, which is covered in snow year-round, and enjoy fabulous views of the towns and valleys below.

On the way back to Interlaken this afternoon, take a short orientation tour of Grindelwald. One of Switzerland’s most spectacular alpine villages, it’s set beneath the dramatic north face of the Eiger. This morning, transfer by coach to Zermatt. Nestled at the foot of Europe’s most famous mountain, the 4,478-metre Matterhorn, the popular resort village of Zermatt looks as though it has been plucked from the pages of a fairytale. When the landscape is blanketed in thick white snow, visitors flock here for exhilarating winter sports, and in summer they come to hike more than 100 trails that weave around its valleys, lakes and ridges.

Wake in Zermatt today and breathe in the crisp mountain air as the early morning sun sparkles on the snow-covered slopes of the Matterhorn. Then take Europe's highest open-air cogwheel railway to Gornergrat, a rocky peak with a summit of more than 3,000 metres. It offers spectacular 360-degree views, including an uninterrupted vista of the neighbouring Matterhorn.

This morning take a breath-taking train journey on board the Glacier Express to the glamourous alpine village of St. Moritz. See snow-capped mountains and gorgeous valleys from the window of your seat on board this picturesque railway.
