Not forgetting that it is the birthplace of painter Diego Velazquez, the resting place of Christopher Columbus, the inspiration for Bizet’s Carmen and a location for Game of Thrones filming, Seville is truly more than just a sum of its parts. This city is a full on experience, a beguiling labyrinth of centuries old streets, tiny tapas restaurants serving possibly the best dishes you’ll taste south of Madrid and a paradise of Mudejar architecture and tranquil palm trees and fountain-filled gardens. The town itself, with 3,000 years of history, is characterised by pretty white houses with balconies often adorned with colourful flowers. As you wander around be sure to take a stroll through the sizeable Plaza de Espãna, with its large monument dedicated to the first Spanish constitution, which was signed here in 1812. Cádiz has two pleasant seafront promenades which boast fine views of the Atlantic Ocean, and has a lovely park, the Parque Genoves, located close to the sea with an open-air theatre and attractive palm garden. Also notable is the neo-Classical cathedral, capped by a golden dome. |

Built on a rock and surrounded by the sea, this fortified city is connected to the mainland only by a narrow strip of sand. This afternoon, join us for a chance to admire the Pueblos Blancos in Vejer de la Frontera and Conil de la Frontera. The Pueblos Blancos are hilltop village homes painted in bright whitewash surrounded by bucolic scenery. They are symbolic of the ancient Moorish charm found in the region. Tonight's entertainment will be a flamenco show. |

We'll visit the Osborne bodega and taste the local wines.* Our ship will cruise to Isla Minima, where we'll visit an authentic Andalusian hacienda located on the banks of the Guadalquivir and watch a horse show in its private arena. After we return on board, we'll begin to cruise to Seville. |

This morning, we'll tour the Palacio de las Dueas. Then, enjoy a free afternoon in Seville.Or you can join us for an optional excursion (not included in package): Full-day trip to Grenada (available only through reservation before departure). We will leave by coach for a full-day tour of Grenada (driving time is approximately 3 hours round trip). Grenada is known for its Moorish architectural styleespecially the majesty of the Alhambra fortress and the Generalife summer palace. After, we will return to Seville. Tonight is our festive gala evening. |
