In summer 2017, Marella Discovery 2 joined the fleet. Marella Discovery 2 is the sister ship to Marella Discovery – and this is why their names are so similar. Having two ships means you’re able to pair a wider choice of itineraries with the exciting features offered by this larger, more contemporary style of vessel. These include an outdoor cinema, a rock climbing wall, a minigolf course, an indoor pool and a glossy atrium. Not to mention the range of bars, excellent dining scene and night-time shows enhanced by up-to-the-minute technology. Just like Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2 is All Inclusive as standard. So, drinks, including prosecco and cider, meals in a selection of restaurants and most onboard activities are included in the cruise price. Flights and tips are both part of the package, too.
Marella Cruises don’t think tips and service charges should cost you extra, so they've included them in the price. You’re not expected to tip any of their crew – unless you want to, of course.
All cabins come with Air Conditioning, TV, Two full-length wardrobes, Hairdryer and a Safe (at a charge).
There’ll be six restaurants to choose from. There’s full waiter service at the main restaurant, which serves up traditional dishes with a modern twist. Plus, there are eateries specialising in a particular cuisine – think succulent steak or pan-Asian fare. There’s plenty of choice in the way of drinking spots, as well, whether you’re looking for a pot of tea or a flute of prosecco.
Please note: the ship does not feature any dedicated enrichment facilities.
With so many entertainment options, no night onboard’s the same as the last. The Broadway Show Lounge delivers on West-End style numbers. Then there’s Venue, which plays host to family-friendly game shows and performances from virtual bands. Movies by Moonlight takes over out on deck, while live musicians showcase the acoustics in the Atrium Bar. As the night draws to a close, head to the Live Room for a session on the dancefloor.
Chilled-out days onboard are spent getting pampered at the spa or lounging by one of the two pools – both come with built-in hot tubs, too. For something more active, you can aim for a hole in one on the minigolf course or reach for the sky on the rock climbing wall.
